July equals sundry experiences. Intriguing incidents, conversations, gossips and many more. Some were painful, some shameful. Some were humorous, some bizarre. All pieced together makes this article an iridescent kaleidoscope.

WHAT WE LOST WHEN WE GAINED?

I became blind at ten, and after a year’s stay home, joined a special school to resume my studies. I learnt Braille, and in three month’s time knew to read and write both Tamil and English (including shorthand).

What Happened in the Operation Theatre?

I was sitting on the edge of the bed at my ward. To kill time, I was nibbling at a yummy plum cake. My right eye was bandaged with a long strip of cotton. There were two others in the room. Two mothers. One Mine and the other my mother’s.
